Reports by Libyan rebels are claiming that children are being killed in the town of Misurata, and this has prompted renewed outcries from the world’s community.  The UN and the United States have moved forward with actions to possibly move in on the ground in Libya in response to the atrocities.  This possibility has many around the world concerned for the fate of the United States economy; because, the ramifications of sending troops into Libya are not fully understood.  The US military is already stretched thin as it is, and the chance of another full blown occupation is not something most believe is a prudent course of action.

The US economy is supposedly in a fragile state of recovery at the moment, and sending military forces onto the ground in Libya might spark a downward trend.  The US dollar is already experiencing a massive downturn against the Euro amidst rumors that the US military might enter Libya.  The price of gold and silver has also risen quite significantly with gold approaching $1500.00 an ounce and silver fast approaching $45.00.  This spike in precious metal prices, combined with the slumping value of the US dollar spells out some real fear for the US from the world’s community.

The nation of China has come forward and openly criticized the United States for becoming involved in Libyan affairs.  While this might not seem like a pressing concern China is in a symbiotic trade relationship with the United States.  Negative impact upon such a relationship would definitely cause trouble for the US dollar on the online forex exchange.  More trouble with US currency is certainly not desirable with regard to the current climate; American citizens are not happy at all with where the economy is headed.  Given President Obama’s current approval rating moving troops into Libya even with the murder of children occurring is going to be a very risky move indeed.
